Take the time

Having a professional portrait of your pet, or you and your pet, is something most of us pet owners want, but never take the time to do. I like art and I like decorating my walls with it. The way I look at it, I might as well decorate my walls with photographs of my horses, dogs and all my animals rather than someone else’s. I like to think of it as bringing everyone into the home.

About the Shoot

The shoot can be very simple or very elaborate. Whatever your style or idea, we will make it work. As long as your pet complies!

The photo studio session for your dog and/or other pet will be done at our studio in Richmond, IL. I like to plan as much in advance as possible, because, as we know, animals are unpredictable. We might have one idea and your animal has another. It’s ok, we just go with it.

Everything will be set up ahead of time. Background and lights will be ready to go when you arrive. You bring your pet in, we let him/her get acquainted, then place them where we want - and snap we got it!

Pets can be very finicky, some love the camera some don’t. I get along really well with animals, as I respect their space and allow their personalities to shine. I am usually able to capture even the most persnickety ones.

I like including people in the photos, but I always recommend doing one solo of your pet first. I do not limit time, but most pets do not want to be there longer than 20 minutes.

For the final product, we have different types of packages that include printed photos and/or digital files. I like to print images myself and love to discuss different paper options and framing ideas.
